MC CALL CURETTES

The McCall curettes are a set of four surgical instruments used to remove tissue from the uterine cavity. They are named after their inventor, Dr. James McCall, who developed them in the early 20th century.

The curettes are designed for use in a procedure called dilation and curettage (D&C), which is commonly performed to treat conditions such as abnormal bleeding or to diagnose cancer of the uterus.

The McCall curettes are inserted into the uterus through the vagina and cervix. The first two instruments are used to dilate (open) the cervix, and the last two are used to remove tissue from the uterine walls.

The McCall curettes are made of stainless steel and are reusable. They are sterilized before each use.
